The Youth Education Centre is dedicated to providing first class Australian education to all students. At the YEC, we work with students to develop tailored learning plans. These learning plans help students grow, both personally and academically.
Unlike some secondary schools, the Youth Education Centre offers more than just a SACE education. We’re proud to offer VET and Vocational courses at the Youth Education Centre. This allows our students to truly take the first steps toward a meaningful career, following whichever career path they’re passionate about.
The Youth Education Centre Difference
At the Youth Education Centre, we’re proud to be different. The learning environment at the Youth Education Centre was created to be inclusive and welcoming. Each student receives their own tailored learning plan. This helps students achieve their goals in a manner that is attainable and likely.
This tailored approach to learning doesn’t only make students more academically successful, it also improves them personally. The learning environment of the YEC helps foster our values of respect, responsibility, and academic excellence at every level.
VET Courses At The Youth Education Centre
The Youth Education Centre offers a wide range of VET courses in Australia. With the YEC, students learn crucial skills for work and take the first steps on their career pathway.
We work with students to understand what they want to do in the future. This is why we offer a range of different VET courses as part of our curriculum. The following are some of our most popular VET courses at the YEC:
- Cert II Horticulture
- Cert II Automotive
- Cert I Construction
- Cert II Construction
- Cert II Food Processing
Vocational education and training is a fundamental part of what we do at YEC. Not only do these courses help students find meaningful future work, but they also enjoy learning and receiving their VET qualifications.
Our VET courses at the YEC offer a dual benefit to students. This doesn’t only allow students to take the first steps toward a future career. This also helps students complete their SACE qualifications by studying topics that matter to them.
At the Youth Education Centre, our VET courses are eligible for SACE credits. This means that students can undertake a VET course and work towards completing their SACE certificate at the same time.
Where Are Vocational Courses Held?
The Flexicentre is the central hub of the Youth Education Centre and is where most of our courses are held.
Located just off Churchill Road, the Flexicentre is easily accessible by public transport for students across Adelaide.
